Bah ha

I crack myself up sometimes. This will not be in the final. He is getting a badass faceplate. But I didn't want to be the only one to be in on my little joke. Spent way too much time on this little slice of stupid.

Exciting!

What is this? This is exciting. If I net the gig I'll give you the full rundown, but until then, here is a tease.
Also exciting, I just sold "Sheriff McHale." It is now the most expensive painting I've ever sold. Booyah. Here's lookin' at you, kid.
He looks almost like he is skipping away happily... SPOILER ALERT: He isn't.

Aborigine Wizard

He's done! Mostly! Plus he's a sketch, which means I am trying to learn, of all things, when to truly say 'enough.' So, enough. And if there's something I should fix, I'll fix it on the next piece(though don't let that stop you from giving me critiques. Give away! I say) I messed around with some textures on this, and I'm still not sure if I like them. Here are two versions, one with the colors played with and textures added, one without. Hope you like them!

Moar!

An hour of warm up today on our crazay wizard friend...

Quick Sketch

I love the 'eureka' moment. That moment when my understanding lines up and I discover something that has been sitting in front of me all along. I have been working primarily digitally lately, but my detachment from the media has been extremely frustrating: I just don't hold the same amount of control on the computer as I do in actual paint. However, last night I was rolling around in bed wondering how my method was different for the two tools, and pop! On came the light. So I started on this little guy. I gave him an hour, but I have to get back to the stuff I'm responsible to others for. So, WIP it. He was both fun and very educational, so maybe I can make a case for character studies to help my real projects. Hope you like him.

New Pieces

New pieces! Let's get to them:
This one is a character named "The Elder." He is the oldest living denizen of Soterion, and he is a part of a race that stands one foot tall and wears mushrooms for hats.
This is a gearling. A sort of fairy (known as Nepsah) that tinkers and engineers. All images Copyright(c) 2009 ~ 2012 Lamplight Media. All rights reserved.
